"This is the day the Lord has made:
let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
It's Wednesday; we've made it half way through the week. How are we doing?
Take a moment to take a deep breath and think about that question. How are you doing? What are you feeling this morning? Take a few moments to verbalize those things to God. Then, say a quick prayer.
I'm feeling tired this morning...God, give me the energy to get moving and accomplish what I need to.
I'm feeling anxious this morning, there are some difficult things I need to do today...Lord, give me the wisdom and the patience to work through these challenges.
Now, reread this verse. This is the day that the Lord has made: let us rejoice and be glad in it. God chose to wake me up this morning. It is a gift. Instead of feeling like I have to just get through another day, I can embrace today as a new beginning, a chance to do better than yesterday. I have my home, my health, my family, my job- s0 many things to be grateful for!
The truth is, it's not about how I feel! God is worthy of my Praise, just because He is God! In a few moments, I am going to see the sunrise, my coffee is brewing, and I have been given the gift of life for another day. That is why it is called the present!
I can't change yesterday, I can't worry about tomorrow, but I can celebrate the moments of today. I can look for the miracles, and embrace that joy.
Lord, help me to adjust my lens today to see your goodness and love. Help me to see others as my brothers and sisters, who are loved by you. Help me to have patience and wisdom as I deal with today's challenges. Help me to find joy and laughter. Help me to notice the beauty around me. Help me to be grateful for the breath in my lungs today.
