If God is in charge of the whole world, does He really have time for me?

" Ah, Sovereign LORD,

You have made the heavens and the earth

by your great power and outstretched arm.

Nothing is too hard for you." Jer 32:17

God created the universe and everything in it. That includes me. He says I am "fearfully and wonderfully made". I was not an accident. From the very beginning, God has had a purpose and a plan for my life. I am important to Him, I am loved by Him, and I have been chosen by Him.

God is the master multi-tasker! He can handle the whole world and still care very deeply about me. Yesterday, I talked about bringing all my cares to God and giving them to Him so I can let them go. Does God really care about the argument I had with my mother, or the decision I have to make at work? Absolutely!

I have children, and I love them more than words could express. When they come to me with their problems and needs, it makes me happy. It shows that they trust me, and need me. By taking the time to listen to them and offer help, it shows them that I value and love them. My kids know I am never too busy for them and that whatever they want to talk about with me is never a waste of time. I believe that God feels the same way about us! He wants to have an intimate relationship with us. He wants us to talk to Him, and to trust Him.

When I was a little girl I remember singing the song, "He's got the whole world in His hands" and I had this picture of God, like Atlas, holding up the entire world. Now, I see a gentle Jesus, with His hands open; ready to take my cares and burdens. I see a gentle God who wants to wrap His arms around me and comfort me. I have come to know a God that is both the Almighty God, and an Intimate Friend.

I love the lyrics of the song "Everything will be alright" because it says that God hold the whole world and He holds MY whole world in His hands. My whole world, all my cares and worries and desires are important to Him. If I trust Him, I can let go and know that everything will be alright.
